CCTV (Closed-Circuit Television) are private security cameras that can be controlled using terminals.

History[]

In the 2002 video-game The Thing, CCTVs have a zoom function and can be moved freely in all directions. They come in two variants, a surveillance one and an armed sniper version with crosshairs. Both versions have a joystick to move the camera around, and in the case of the sniper version, to fire at targets.

Captain Blake used many of these terminals to survey areas for safe passing, and to access information visible in the monitor's feed, such as codes and the location of VIPs. He also used the sniper variant to fight off human and Thing enemies and to destroy barricaded areas.
